Just a little something to start with.

I began my teaching career 9 years ago. I graduated in 2013 from Georgia State University with a B.S. Ed in Special Education and Early Childhood Education (dual certification program). In between, I've had 4 children. Two boys and then, 2 girls. I recently accepted a 4th grade teaching position at a local elementary school in Georgia.

After panicking over the fact that not only I applied online but, I also went to 12 schools and dropped off my resume (go get them, I said to myself!), I also emailed principals too. I know, I know, it's a little much but, trust me, if there are over 15,000 applicants going for the same jobs, I need to make sure I am seen. Okay, back to me panicking. Almost 3 weeks passed and I didn't hear not one word. I felt doomed! Then, one day, I received to calls from 2 schools. They wanted to schedule and interview. Long story short, I interviewed at both and the second school called me to offer me one of the 4th grade position. I was beyond HAPPY! I was floating on cloud 9 and couldn't nobody tell me nothing! The Lord blessed me once again.

I was able to tour the school before fully accepting. I wanted to make sure I got a good vibe. The school is pretty big and open. There are 8, fourth grade teachers, including me. The best thing of all is... I HAVE A BIG WINDOW! PRIME REAL ESTATE in the world of teachers. Go me!
My classroom is a little bit on the long side, more rectangular, if that makes more sense. It is all mine and I cannot wait to start decorating it! Well, that's all for now. See you next post!

Not sure what to do yet with this corner. The two bars have hooks where the students can put there book bags and jackets.

There is my beautiful window!
There is a sink and cabinets.
The far, big cabinet is next to my grade level partner (haven't met her yet).

Another look at my window. This is where I'll probably put my desk if, I decide I want one.
Maybe this can be where I put my kidney table. Who knows...

This is the back wall. There is one long bulletin board. Not sure yet what I plan on putting up.

This is the front of my room. I have a stationary SmartBoard right in the middle of my whiteboard. One side for one thing and the other for something else.
